The following visitors are entitled to a reduced admission ticket
1) Children and young persons aged 6 to 25 from non-EU member states, on presentation of a passport to confirm age and nationality.
2) Greek and other citizens of EU member states over 65 years of age, on presentation of an ID card or passport to confirm age and nationality.
3) Parents escorting primary school educational visits from EU member states and the European Economic Area.
4) Teachers and professors escorting educational visits of schools and primary, secondary and tertiary education institutions from non-EU member states.
All visitors from 1 November to 31 March each year.
The following visitors are entitled to free admission
1) Children and young persons aged 25 or under from EU member states, on presentation of an ID card or passport to confirm age and nationality. All pupils of Hellenic primary and secondary schools (in accordance with Circular no. 298244/28-06-2021).
2) Children aged 5 or under from non-EU member states, on presentation of a passport to confirm age and nationality.
3) Greek students aged over 25 in secondary school (evening schools, Second Chance Schools, Vocational Lyceums) and vocational schools (OAED Vocational Schools) from EU member states and the European Economic Area, on presentation of a school certificate stating its duration.
4) Students and Escorting teachers during educational visits of schools and institutions of primary, secondary and tertiary education from EU member-states and countries of the European Economic Area.
5) Members of households participating in the Social Solidarity Income (KEA) programme, on presentation of an ID Card and certificate of entitlement to free admission due to participation in the KEA programme, for the stated period of participation, and of a valid certificate for dependents.
6) Greek unemployment card holders, on presentation of an ID card and valid certificate of unemployment or recent renewal of unemployment.
7) Persons with disabilities and one escort, the latter if the disability is 67% or over, on presentation of an ID card or passport and a Unified Social Security Fund (EFKA) certificate of disability (issued by the Disability Certification Centre – KEPA) for Greek citizens, or an equivalent certificate from the relevant body for non-Greek citizens.
8) Greek parents of large families (over 4 children) and their children up to the age of 25 or regardless of age if they have disabilities, on presentation of an ID card and a valid large family status certificate issued by the Municipality, and a Unified Social Security Fund (EFKA) certificate of disability (issued by the Disability Certification Centre – KEPA) if applicable.
9) Parents of families with three children and their children up to the age of 25 or regardless of age if they have disabilities, upon presentation of an ID card and a family situation certificate issued by the Municipality, and a Unified Social Security Fund (EFKA) certificate of disability (issued by the Disability Certification Centre – KEPA) if applicable.
10) Single parents and their children up to the age of 25 or regardless of age if they have disabilities, upon presentation of an ID card and a family situation certificate issued by the Municipality, and a Unified Social Security Fund (EFKA) certificate of disability (issued by the Disability Certification Centre – KEPA) if applicable.
11) Refugees, on presentation of an International Protection Applicant Card or a Travel Document under the Convention on the Status of Refugees of 28 July 1952 (recognised refugee passport) or a Foreign National’s Travel Document (recognised beneficiary of subsidiary protection passport) or a Residence Permit.
12) Individuals completing their military service, on presentation of a valid military ID card.
13) Greek Olympic champions, on presentation of an ID card and a Hellenic Olympic Champions Association membership card.
14) Official guests of the Greek State, by request of the relevant Ministry (Protocol Bureau), with the authorisation of the Directorate General of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage.
15) International Council of Museums (ICOM) or International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) card holders, on presentation of an ID card or passport and a valid ICOM/ICOMOS card.
16) Members of Friends of Archaeological Sites and Museums Societies and Associations, which belong to the public sector and are managed by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, on presentation of a valid membership card.
17) Current employees of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Archaeological Receipts and Expropriations Fund (TAPA), the Acropolis Museum and the Kanellopoulos Museum, on presentation of their staff ID.
18) Specialist scientists with permission to photograph, study, draw or publish antiquities.
19) Members of the Greek Chamber of Fine Arts, on presentation of a valid membership card.
20) Licensed tourist guides of Hellenic nationality and students in the Tourist Guide Schools of the Ministry of Tourism with a valid student ID card.
21) Journalists, on presentation of a valid press card.
22) Free Entrance Pass holders on presentation of the Pass.
23) Members of the Association of Greek Art Historians, on presentation of a valid membership card.
The following are eligible for three-year renewable Free Entrance Passes issued by the Ministry of Culture and Sports
1) Current members of Central Councils and Local Monuments Councils of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
2) Current Board members of the Archaeological Receipts and Expropriations Fund (TAPA), the Acropolis Museum and the Kanellopoulos Museum.
3) Current Directors and members of Foreign Schools of Archaeology in Greece.
4) Contract employees of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Archaeological Receipts and Expropriations Fund (TAPA), the Acropolis Museum and the Kanellopoulos Museum. The Free Entrance Pass can be renewed as long as they continue to be employed by these institutions.
5) Retired employees of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Archaeological Receipts and Expropriations Fund (TAPA), the Acropolis Museum and the Kanellopoulos Museum.
6) Staff of the State Legal Counsel Office of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
7) Currently employed teachers and professors in Greek primary, secondary and tertiary education. Substitute and hourly-wage teachers can renew their Free Entrance Pass as long as they are employed in education.
8) Graduates of History and Archaeology of Schools of Philosophy, and from Schools of Architecture, Schools of Fine Arts, Schools of Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Art, including Conservators of Antiquities and Works of Art, from Greece or equivalent Schools of EU member states and the European Economic Area, as well as holders of Master’s degrees and doctorates from these schools.
9) Gradates of Museum Studies and Cultural Management Schools and Departments of Higher Education Institutions from Greece or equivalent Schools of EU member states and the European Economic Area, as well as holders of Master’s degrees and doctorates from these schools.
10) Students and graduates of the Preparatory and Vocational School of Fine Arts of Panormos, Tinos.
11) Officers serving in the Cultural Heritage and Antiquities Department of the Security Police.
