The Archaeological Museum of Heraklion hosts the performance “Lucrece, A Music Theatre Narrative” on the 30th and 31st August, an event included in the initiative All of Greece, One Culture 2024.

Αύριο Πέμπτη 25 Ιουλίου 2024 το Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Ηρακλείου θα παραμείνει κλειστό από τις 8:00 έως τις 12:00 λόγω στάσης εργασίας του φυλακτικού προσωπικού. The Archaeological Museum of Heraklion will remain closed on Thursday 25th July 2024, from 8:00 to 12:00, due to strike of the security guard personnel.
Archaeological Museum of Heraklion participation in the Operational Earthquake Field Exercise “MINOAS”
On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion participated in the Operational Earthquake Field Exercise “MINOAS”.
The exercise took place in the Region of Crete and was organized by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection and the Organization for Earthquake Planning and Protection (OASP). During the exercise, after the alarm message sounded from 112, the Museum and Administration building, which houses employees of A.M.H. and Heraklion Ephorate of Antiquities, was evacuated.
International Women’s Day – “Dialogues on gender equality”
The Archaeological Museum of Heraklion celebrates International Women’s Day and invites you to the opening of the exhibition “Dialogues on gender equality” on Wednesday 6 March 2024 at 19:00, in the Minoan wall paintings room.
The event will be inaugurated by the Minister of Culture Dr. Lina Mendoni.
The event is supported by the Region of Crete.

On Sunday, March 6, 2022, the last Sunday of the Carnival, the entrance to the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion is free for everyone, as every first Sunday of the month until March.
